What you will do

• Apply lean product development tools and critical thinking to new product development and continuous improvement projects.
• Execute the development and implementation of new product introductions and product changes.
• Manage system design requirements using DFMEAs, DOE, tolerance stackups, and FEA to bring products to market predictably.
• Coordinate with supply chain personnel and vendors for the sourcing of raw materials and components.
• Develop DVPs, conduct testing, and provide hands-on troubleshooting to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance in specific engineering or product areas.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 8 years of product design and development experience.
• Experience with 3-D Parametric Solid Modeling (Solid Edge or Solidworks).
• Proven track record in new product development launch and Stage Gate processes.
• Exceptional written and oral communication and strategic thinking skills.
• Ability to work hands-on with prototyping and proactive troubleshooting.

Nice to have

• M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Solidworks certification.
• Experience with aluminum/plastic extrusions and injection molding.
• Predictive engineering and analysis experience using FEA (Ansys, Abaqus, Solidworks FEA).
• Knowledge of vinyl windows, storm/entry doors, or building materials.
