What you will do
- Lead the design and development of solid rocket motor primary/secondary structures and propulsion components.
- Drive technical decisions regarding motor design and propellant to ensure performance, safety, and cost targets.
- Build, lead, and scale a high-performing propulsion engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership and accountability.
- Oversee CAD models and drawings ensuring compliance with internal standards and ASME Y14.5 GD&T practices.
- Collaborate with supply chain and government stakeholders to mitigate risks and meet aggressive program timelines.
- Provide hands-on support during assembly, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of hardware prototypes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, materials, manufacturing engineering, physics, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in propulsion, mechanical systems, or fluids design, analysis, or testing.
- Demonstrated experience specifically with rocket motors or propulsion systems.
- Proven ability to lead technical projects or small teams in a fast-paced environment.
- U.S. citizenship is required as the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance is mandatory.
- Willingness to support extended hours or weekends during critical integration, test, and flight milestones.
Nice to have
- Deep expertise in propellant formulation and motor design.
- Experience with liquid propulsion systems.
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as NX, Creo, or CATIA.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Experience with aerospace materials (metals, composites, plastics) and insensitive munitions standards.
