Senior Tooling Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, CA. Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by ITAR regulations

Salary: $140,000 - $175,000 + equity

What you will do

• Design and fabricate tooling and material handling systems for satellite buses and subsystems.
• Lead the development of production fixtures from project kickoff through full production.
• Drive hands-on development, sizing, and structural analysis of ground support equipment.
• Support the development of ground test setups and flight hardware development fixtures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish product requirements and development schedules.
• Implement tooling solutions via a combination of hands-on build and external fabrication resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or a relevant engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of industry experience in mechanical or electromechanical design and analysis.
• Proficiency with CAD and FEA software, specifically NX (Unigraphics) and Teamcenter PLM.
• Hands-on fabrication experience and practical application of GD&T.
• Experience performing structural analysis using Simcenter 3D, Femap, or Hypermesh.
• Must be a "U.S. Person" (citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual) per ITAR regulations.
