Junior Facility Engineer

TL;DR

Junior Facility Engineer: Participate in quality assurance of mechanical systems for industrial buildings on government installations with an accent on facility asset verification, tagging, and documentation using client-server technologies. Focus on onsite verification support, database updates based on field observations, and enriching asset data with risk flags.

Location: Hybrid in Bethesda, MD, USA. Must be a US Citizen for Security Clearance requirements, able to pass government background checks and obtain campus credentials.

What you will do

• Participate in quality assurance of mechanical systems through facility asset verification, tagging, and documentation.
• Apply verification methodologies to meet project requirements and support database enhancements.
• Provide onsite support for asset identification creation, execution, and installation.
• Communicate quality analysis results, report status metrics, and document field observations for database updates.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Enrich asset and space data by assigning applicable risk flags.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience; facility systems, maintenance, or operations preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Knowledge of project development life cycle.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, and database management.
• Excellent verbal/written communication, problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Self-starter able to work in a team with minimal direction; knowledge of health and safety standards.
• Ability to work hybrid with some on-site presence; regularly spend long hours standing, using devices, climbing stairs, and performing site visits including roofs, basements, and utility tunnels.

Nice to have

• Background in facility engineering or large-scale mechanical/electrical systems installation.
• Inventory tracking and database quality assurance experience.
• Experience reading drawings/schematics and handling engineering documentation.
• Previous experience with NUVOLO IWMS Software or construction.
• Detail-oriented.
