What you will do

• Provide strategic communications guidance to affiliates to advance health care access and counter legislative or legal attacks.
• Develop and execute media campaigns to shape narratives supporting the organization's campaign priorities.
• Draft and review press releases, op-eds, talking points, and briefing notes to support media relations.
• Proactively pitch national and state-level media and build relationships with new outlets.
• Manage day-to-day media relations, including pitching and media monitoring.
• Provide expert guidance on crisis communications and conduct media training for spokespeople.

Requirements

• Must be based in Washington, DC or New York, NY (Hybrid).
• 5 years of media experience with a demonstrated ability to pitch and land stories in regional and national media.
• Bachelor’s Degree or high school diploma with 2-3 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong commitment to the mission of hirify.global.
• Knowledge of communicating with diverse groups and multicultural workforces.
