Associate Publisher (HSS): Manage a portfolio of open access and hybrid journals in Humanities and Social Sciences, including Economics, Finance, and Management Science with an accent on strategic development, performance, and long-term success. Location: Beijing and Shanghai - Hybrid working model

What you will do

• Manage strategic development and growth of a sub-portfolio of journals, owning submission, publication, and performance targets.
• Serve as primary contact for society partners, Editors-in-Chief, and Editorial Boards, handling contracts and editorial practices.
• Monitor KPIs like workflow efficiency, turnaround times, usage, and citations, contributing to journal positioning and planning.
• Build networks in research communities, track trends, and represent journals at conferences and events.
• Evaluate new launches, acquisitions, and commercial opportunities with market analysis.
• Collaborate with editorial, operations, production, and marketing teams on publishing lifecycle and projects.

Requirements

• Master’s degree (or higher), preferably in relevant HSS discipline like Economics, Finance, Management Science, or Data Science
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in Chinese and English
• Ability to gather, evaluate, and synthesize data for data-driven decisions and strategic planning
• Proven relationship management with academics, collaboration skills, and financial acumen (P&L knowledge a plus)
• Strong time management, IT literacy, attention to detail, and adaptability in a hybrid environment
• Occasional travel required; prior experience in academic publishing or as author a plus
