Release Engineer

Location: Fully onsite at the office in Lisbon, Portugal; relocation support is available.

Compensation: €54K–€67K annually, plus an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Manage and optimize release pipelines for reliable software deployments.
• Define versioning strategies and maintain build, release, and deployment workflows.
• Coordinate releases with engineering, QA, DevOps, and product teams.
• Automate release processes and implement feature-flagging strategies for controlled rollouts.
• Monitor and troubleshoot release issues, minimizing downtime and maintaining rollback plans.
• Assess release performance, security, quality, and reliability while driving continuous improvements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in release engineering, DevOps, or build and release management.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or ArgoCD.
• Strong knowledge of Git, branching strategies, and release workflows.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation, plus build systems such as Xcode, Gradle, or Webpack.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills in an agile environment.
