Product Data Scientist (Fintech): Own the experimentation and analytics layer driving product and underwriting decisions with an accent on A/B testing, success metrics, and unit economics. Location: Hybrid position based in New York City, expected in office at least three days a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays) with additional days for client meetings.

Salary: $184,000 base + equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own and manage the experimentation ecosystem, including design, execution, and analysis of A/B tests across underwriting and product experiences.
• Translate model outputs like risk scores into business decisions on approval thresholds and lending strategies.
• Define and standardize core product, financial metrics, and forecasting frameworks grounded in unit economics.
• Design experiments evaluating levers like credit limits, accrual mechanisms, and pricing impacts on growth and risk.
• Partner with Product, Finance, Risk, and Engineering to align strategy, evaluate trade-offs, and drive data-informed decisions.
• Act as strategic advisor interpreting experiment results and guiding product development.

Requirements

• 5+ years in data science, product analytics, or related analytical role.
• Strong foundation in statistics, experimental design, A/B testing, causal inference, and hypothesis testing.
• Proven experience owning end-to-end experimentation programs and influencing product decisions through data.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with large datasets.
• Ability to translate complex analyses into clear business insights, with strong business intuition on trade-offs, unit economics, and growth vs. risk.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Finance, or Strategy teams in fast-paced environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, lending, or credit-related products.
• Familiarity with underwriting concepts like risk scoring, approval strategies, and loss modeling.
• Experience building forecasting models for business or financial metrics.
• Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis.
• Experience with experimentation platforms and statistical tooling.
