What you will do

• Develop multi-physics models (CFD, thermal) to analyze gas flow behavior, heat transfer, and optical contamination.
• Design and optimize opto-mechanical assemblies and sealing strategies to minimize purge gas reliance.
• Implement energy-efficient architectures focusing on reduced heat loads and optimized airflow.
• Execute test plans to validate modeling predictions by instrumenting systems to measure flow rates and temperature gradients.
• Quantify cost savings and environmental impact reductions to support sustainability goals.
• Collaborate with optical, systems, and process engineering teams on system-level architecture.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• Authorized to work in the USA.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical or opto-mechanical system design.
• Proficiency with CFD and thermal modeling tools such as ANSYS Fluent or COMSOL.
• Strong experience with CAD and tolerance analysis.
• Understanding of gas flow dynamics and contamination control in precision systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with purge gas systems in semiconductor tools.
• Knowledge of cleanroom and vacuum environments.
