Process Technician - 2nd Shift - GM Defense

TL;DR

Process Technician (GM Defense): Fitment and installation of automotive components using error proofing equipment, torque guns, and assembly tools with an accent on safety, sequencing, and general automotive processes. Focus on diagnosing and troubleshooting issues during vehicle builds, reading process documents and drawings, and achieving deliverables with minimal supervision.

Location: Onsite full-time at GM Defense Production Facility in Concord, North Carolina (2nd shift: Sunday-Wednesday, four 10-hour days). What you will do

• Daily use of assembly tools and processes for component fitment and installation.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues during vehicle builds.
• Read and interpret general automotive process documents and drawings.
• Perform tasks to support achieving production deliverables.
• Manage multiple tasks and deliver results with little to no supervision.
• Provide suggestions and guidance to teammates as needed.

Requirements

• HS diploma with relevant work experience, technical coursework/training, or professional certifications.
• 5+ years of automotive experience in vehicle/component assembly.
• Ability to work 2nd shift (Sunday-Wednesday, 4x10s).
• Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to follow sequencing.
• Basic computer user awareness and terminology.

Nice to have

• Associates degree.
• Armoring experience.
• Military experience.
• 2+ years in machine shop fabrication, automotive assembly, or prototype vehicle builds.
