What you will do

• Build and maintain shared data access libraries and SDKs for Snowflake, S3, and RDS with integrated RBAC and query governance.
• Design and implement event-driven data flows using event brokers, CDC connectors, schema registries, and dead letter queues.
• Develop systems for data lineage, governance, RBAC, and audit logging to meet enterprise and federal compliance standards.
• Instrument the data platform with OpenTelemetry, monitor SLOs for latency, and build proactive alerting.
• Optimize infrastructure costs through query cost estimation, workload right-sizing, and efficient storage tier routing.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building platform infrastructure, data platforms, or complex backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python, specifically with FastAPI, Prefect, and dbt.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and at least two of: Snowflake, Redshift, or Postgres.
• Proficiency with AWS (S3, RDS, EKS, EventBridge, IAM) in a Terraform-managed environment.
• Experience deploying, debugging, and scaling services on Kubernetes (EKS).
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) is a hard requirement.

Nice to have

• Experience building shared libraries or SDKs with a focus on versioning and backwards compatibility.
• Expertise in event-driven architectures, including CDC and at-least-once delivery semantics.
• Experience with OpenTelemetry, ClickHouse, or Ray for distributed compute.
• Prior work in regulated environments such as SOC 2, FedRAMP, or HIPAA.
