TL;DR

Lead Documentation Engineer (AI): Defining the strategic vision for technical documentation and leading a team of technical writers to ensure quality and consistency for users and developers with an accent on docs-as-code and scalable content strategies. Focus on building high-impact documentation for APIs and SDKs, optimizing toolchains, and aligning documentation with product priorities.

Location: Hybrid (at least 3 days per week in office). Must be based in or be open to relocating to Paris, France or London, UK.

What you will do

• Define and execute a comprehensive documentation strategy aligned with product roadmaps and business objectives.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of technical writers, prioritizing projects based on impact and feedback.
• Partner with Engineering to implement a "docs-as-code" approach, embedding documentation early in the development cycle.
• Establish and enforce guidelines for tone, structure, and accessibility across APIs, SDKs, tutorials, and release notes.
• Optimize content creation and localization using modern tools like Markdown, Git, and generative AI.
• Track and analyze documentation effectiveness via metrics and support ticket resolution rates.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in technical writing or developer education.
• 4+ years of experience leading teams or defining documentation strategies.
• Proficiency in Markdown, Git, and technical CMS (e.g., Docusaurus, Sphinx).
• Fluent English (primary working language).
• Must reside in or be open to relocating to Paris or London.
• Experience with AI/ML concepts is a strong plus.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of French.
• Experience working in a scale-up or open-source environment.
