What you will do
- Drive the end-to-end food safety strategy for NYC operations, aligning with growth and marketplace expansion goals.
- Serve as the executive on-site leader accountable for regulatory compliance, audit performance, and food safety outcomes.
- Manage all regulatory interactions with FDA, USDA, and local agencies, ensuring inspection readiness.
- Design and evolve scalable food safety systems and preventive controls (HACCP, sanitation, cold chain) for high-volume production.
- Establish and monitor food safety KPIs and risk indicators to proactively identify trends and mitigate risks.
- Build and scale a high-performing food safety organization through hiring, coaching, and leadership development.
Requirements
- Must be based in or able to work onsite in New York, NY.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
- Required credentials: HACCP, PCQI, and/or Certified Food Safety Manager.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in food safety/quality within ready-to-eat or high-compliance food production.
- Deep expertise in FDA and USDA regulatory frameworks and risk-based safety systems.
- Proven track record of scaling food safety programs in complex, high-growth operations.
