What you will do

• Develop new technology concepts from early-stage ideas through to demonstrated feasibility.
• Design and implement transistor-level circuits to validate new concepts on test chips.
• Drive silicon bring-up, lab validation, debug, and characterization of prototype designs.
• Analyze experimental data and simulation results to guide technical direction and refine concepts.
• Collaborate with senior technical leaders to identify high-value mid- and long-term innovation opportunities.
• Contribute to product competitiveness by establishing the robustness and advantage of new features.

Requirements

• Strong background in analog/mixed-signal IC design at the transistor level.
• Deep understanding of CMOS analog fundamentals, including noise, stability, and linearity.
• Proven experience taking designs from concept through simulation, silicon implementation, and lab validation.
• Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Spectre, Cadence, MATLAB, and Python.
• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (preferably grade 2:1 or better); MSc/PhD is advantageous.
• Must be based within commutable distance of Edinburgh or willing to relocate prior to employment.

Nice to have

• Experience with GaN circuit or system design.
• Background in data converters, power management, sensor interfaces, audio, or RF/PLL systems.
• Experience developing early-stage test chips on immature processes with partial PDK.
• Ability to use scripting languages (Python, Ocean/SKILL) to automate simulation and data analysis.
