What you will do

• Own design, performance, and reliability of the data lakehouse using Python/PySpark across bronze-silver-gold architecture on AWS.
• Architect shift to near-real-time streaming with SQS-driven pipelines, Iceberg sinks, ingestion, normalization, and analytics.
• Drive data quality and governance with Great Expectations, data contracts, and Athena SQL layer.
• Strengthen observability via Datadog, Sentry, Sumo Logic, and optimize Glue jobs for performance and cost.
• Build shared Python libraries, improve CI/CD with GitHub Actions and Docker testing.
• Work AI-first daily using Claude Code, MCP tools, and multi-agent systems for pipeline generation and data quality.

Requirements

• 7+ years building production data systems in Python
• Deep expertise in PySpark and distributed data processing (Glue, EMR, Databricks)
• Strong experience with lakehouse architectures (Iceberg, Delta Lake, Hudi on S3)
• Production experience with Airflow or workflow orchestrators
• Solid AWS experience (S3, Glue, Athena, Lambda, SQS)
• Track record improving data quality, governance, pipeline reliability at scale

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of Java
• Experience with Trino/Presto, dbt, Great Expectations
• Interest in AI-assisted development and LLM tooling
• Familiarity with hospitality data
