What you will do

• Lead the design and architecture of globally distributed, secure database systems across AWS and private cloud environments.
• Optimize AWS cloud-native RDS and EMR platforms for maximum performance and cost efficiency.
• Manage automated operations, deployments, and capacity planning using CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Implement data protection strategies, including encryption and access controls, ensuring audit readiness and security compliance.
• Develop enterprise data models and enforce data governance frameworks to ensure consistency and integrity.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and fine-tune database performance using advanced observability tools.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• 7+ years of Enterprise Data Platform Engineering experience, including 5+ years focused on cloud-based database architecture.
• Expertise in AWS services including RDS, Aurora, EMR, HBase, Hive, Spark, Kafka, and Solr.
• Strong proficiency with Terraform, Python, and DevOps automation tools for CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of data governance and regulatory frameworks such as GDPR and HIPAA.

Nice to have

• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Splunk, or Dynatrace.
• Proven track record in business continuity planning and high-availability architecture design.
