TL;DR

Senior Actuary Analyst (Healthcare): Develop forecasting, budgeting, and analytics tools to measure financial and clinical value in value-based care arrangements with an accent on Medicaid reimbursement, healthcare claims data, and profitability analysis. Focus on building cost/revenue models, reporting utilization trends and savings, and evaluating business opportunities.

Location: United States (Remote)

Salary: $90,000 - $110,000

Tech-enabled, pediatrician-led medical group delivering virtual and in-home care for children with special health care needs.

What you will do

  • Develop tools to measure performance of value-based/shared-savings arrangements and communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Build and execute cost/revenue forecasting models using Medicaid reimbursement and claims data.
  • Partner with Healthcare Economics to report revenue/risk trends, utilization, IBNR, and financial savings.
  • Analyze profitability by duration, acuity, and resources to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Monitor performance against forecasts, explain variances in revenue, cost, and membership.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to evaluate new opportunities.

Requirements

  • Associate or working towards Associate of the Society of Actuaries with 3+ completed exams.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2-4 years of actuarial experience in healthcare, managed care, or consulting.
  • SQL and/or SAS skills.
  • Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, business acumen, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Nice to have

  • Medicaid experience.
  • Experience with value-based reimbursement strategies and affordability initiatives.
