What you will do

• Lead the Core Backend Team in orchestrating complex, multi-step transactions with external insurance systems.
• Perform hands-on technical work (80% of time) to transition legacy automation into a decoupled, scalable architecture.
• Design and implement new standards to ensure the automation system is predictable, testable, and fault-tolerant.
• Develop next-generation internal tools using an AI-first approach to scale the platform from 5M to 50M users.
• Collaborate directly with the co-founder/CTO to pitch and implement product ideas rapidly.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a founder or lead architect at an early-stage startup.
• Expertise in system design, specifically for offline, asynchronous jobs and state management.
• Obsession with success rates and the ability to hunt for edge cases in complex business logic.
• Must be based in Canada (Ontario).
