Forward Deployed Solutions Engineer (Public Sector)

TL;DR

Forward Deployed Solutions Engineer (Python/IDP): Designing and deploying Intelligent Document Processing solutions for Public Sector customers with an accent on technical engagement and custom solution logic. Focus on prototyping with Python, architecting cloud deployments, and managing the end-to-end technical lifecycle from POC to production.

Location: Remote (US); travel required for customer site visits and team meetings.

Salary: $93.5K – $160K + Equity + Bonus

What you will do

• Lead the technical lifecycle from discovery through initial production deployment for Public Sector customers.
• Write, prototype, and refine custom Python code and API integrations during the POC and deployment phases.
• Act as the technical owner in sales cycles, architecting end-to-end solutions and handling technical objections.
• Collaborate with partners to fine-tune models on customer data and document final solutions for optimization.
• Define technical scope, compute resourcing, and TCO to mitigate deployment risks for enterprise customers.
• Gather field intelligence and product feedback to influence internal Product and Core Engineering teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing engineering role with proven proficiency in Python.
• Proven experience working in or selling into US Federal, State, Local, or public sector technology environments.
• Strong comprehension of modern cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized deployment (Docker/Kubernetes).
• BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent hands-on engineering background.
• Ability to translate complex AI and IDP concepts into clear business value for executive and technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Active security clearance or demonstrated ability to obtain one.
• Familiarity with FedRAMP, FISMA, or ATO processes.
• Exposure to IDP, RPA, OCR, or ML-based document processing and automation.
• Experience with enterprise integration scoping: APIs, web services, and database connectivity.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
