Embedded Software Engineer (BIOS)

Embedded Software Engineer (BIOS): Design, develop and maintain UEFI BIOS and bootloader software for high-performance embedded computing products with an accent on integration of board-level hardware like PCIe, USB, Ethernet, I2C, GPIO, UART. Focus on end-to-end development including hardware bring-up, prototype validation, test planning, and resolving escalated customer issues.

Location: US Remote. Must be eligible to work in the United States (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible for U.S. Government authorizations).

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain UEFI BIOS and bootloader software, integrating board-level hardware interfaces.
• Collaborate with hardware designers during product specification, board bring-up, and design validation.
• Define test software plans with the realisation team.
• Resolve challenging escalated customer issues.
• Support product specification with hardware and software architects.
• Implement security features.

Requirements

• Substantial experience with UEFI BIOS or bootloader firmware (EDK2, Slimboot, Intel FSP).
• Proficiency in Embedded C for x86, PowerPC, or high-performance ARM processors.
• Experience programming hardware at register level.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging skills, familiarity with schematics and datasheets.
• Ability to communicate in English and work in interdisciplinary teams.
• Appreciation of complex hardware platforms.
