Firmware Engineer (Wearables)

TL;DR

Location: Hybrid - Must be based in or work onsite three days per week at either the San Francisco or San Diego office

Salary: $138,550 - $178,000

What you will do

• Design, develop, and optimize firmware for next-generation wearables, focusing on scalability and power efficiency.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, product managers, and software teams to deliver high-quality integrated solutions.
• Innovate product features and improve performance using the latest firmware development methodologies.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex firmware issues to ensure robust device performance.
• Contribute to strategic decisions regarding firmware architecture and technology stack.

Requirements

• 2+ years of firmware development experience in wearables or consumer electronics.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and a deep understanding of microcontroller architectures.
• Experience integrating wearable sensors such as accelerometers, gyroscopes, and heart rate sensors.

Nice to have

• Strong background in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and other wireless communication protocols.
• Demonstrated experience in power optimization for battery-operated devices.
• Experience working in an agile development environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
