Salary: $140,000 – $220,000 USD

What you will do

• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of embedded software engineers, including performance reviews and career planning.
• Define and own embedded software architecture across both Linux-based and RTOS-based firmware disciplines.
• Lead new hardware bring-up efforts and platform convergence initiatives.
• Own CI/CD pipeline health, release processes, and OTA fleet management for production devices.
• Partner with Product Management, Hardware Engineering, and Data Science to prioritize features and integrate models.
• Manage team capacity planning and work allocation across concurrent product programs.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of industry experience in a technical role.
• 2+ years of people management experience.
• Deep understanding of embedded Linux (Yocto/buildroot) and the full development lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of RTOS concepts (FreeRTOS, Zephyr), including task scheduling and memory management.
• Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) as used in IoT embedded software.

Nice to have

• Experience with IoT or connected consumer electronics at scale.
• Hands-on experience with OTA and fleet observability platforms like Mender or Memfault.
• Proficiency in embedded debugging tools and communication protocols (Wi-Fi, SPI, I2C, UART, Zigbee, Z-Wave).
• Knowledge of ARM Cortex-M, RISC-V, or similar microcontroller architectures.
• Experience managing radio, safety, and cybersecurity certifications (FCC, CE-RED, IC, UKCA).
