Software Engineer, Edge (Infrastructure): Building and optimizing the network traffic path and ingress layer for a configurable identity platform with an accent on reliability, observability, and self-service infrastructure. Location: Remote (Must be based in the US, salary guidelines based on San Francisco Bay Area)

Salary: $130,000 – $220,000

What you will do

• Own edge networking configuration including routing, WAF policy, rate limiting, and certificate management.
• Evolve the ingress layer (controllers, lifecycle, policy, Ingress API) to ensure traffic is reliable and observable.
• Manage internal and external DNS zones to ensure invisible name resolution by design.
• Build network-layer observability for latency and error rates to surface problems before they become incidents.
• Support regional expansion by extending networking into new geographies in a scalable and maintainable way.
• Define the team's technical standards, SDLC, and engineering practices, including AI tooling and chaos engineering.

Requirements

• Experience shipping production services in a polyglot environment (Go, TypeScript, or similar).
• Proven ability to diagnose production issues at the network layer, including proxies and load balancers.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes networking, including ingress controllers, DNS, and network policies.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with a focus on change safety and governance.
• Track record of building internal platforms or tools and driving their adoption across engineering teams.
• US-based eligibility (indicated by 401k benefits and regional salary benchmarking).

Nice to have

• Experience with Cloudflare (Workers, WAF, Access, or Tunnel).
• Knowledge of Istio or other service meshes in multi-cluster environments.
• Experience with GKE or managed Kubernetes at scale.
• Proficiency in Ruby or Rails.
