Technical Writer (Fintech)

Location: Toronto, Canada; flexible hybrid work model

Salary: CAD 80,000–90,000 per year, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan

What you will do

• Produce and maintain procedures, policies, processes, standards, build documentation, and playbooks.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, cross-functional teams, and Agile squads to create accurate, user-focused content.
• Analyze technical processes and document workflows for projects and ongoing operations.
• Build and maintain structured documentation repositories, reference libraries, terminology resources, and knowledge bases.
• Improve documentation practices and publish resources that help employees manage knowledge and use related tools.
• Support documentation aligned with industry standards and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional technical writing, editorial, or copywriting experience.
• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Technical Communication, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
• Experience working with technical subject matter experts and managing the end-to-end documentation process.
• General knowledge of coding, software design, servers, databases, networks, cloud, certificates, and middleware.
• Familiarity with ITSM practices, DevOps, DevSecOps, ITIL, knowledge management, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Eligibility to work for hirify.global in Canada in a full-time capacity is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Confluence, Lucidchart, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, or ServiceNow Knowledge Base.
