What you will do

• Respond to death scenes on an on-call basis to conduct examinations and confirm death.
• Secure decedents and property while preserving and photographing evidence at the scene.
• Acquire and compile pertinent medical histories for each case.
• Generate complete, accurate, and comprehensive investigation statements.
• Communicate case information to the Regional Medical Examiner's Office, law enforcement, and next of kin.
• Facilitate the transportation of remains to designated medical examiner facilities.

Requirements

• Must be based in Mower/Fillmore County, MN.
• Associate's Degree, completion of hirify.global Medical Examiner's Office internship, or High School diploma with at least 2 years of relevant experience in emergency response, law enforcement, or medicine.
• Valid driver's license and current vehicle insurance are required.
• Ability to achieve certification with the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigations (ABMDI) within one year.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy.
• No visa sponsorship provided; not eligible for F-1 STEM OPT extension.
