Senior Software Developer (AWS): Building and maintaining cloud infrastructure for secure, unified data access across the organization with an accent on AWS services and infrastructure as code. Location: Hybrid (at least 3 days a week in-office) in St. John's or Toronto, Canada

What you will do

• Design and implement secure data access solutions using AWS Lake Formation, S3, Glue, Athena, and IAM.
• Provision and manage complex cloud environments using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
• Develop production-grade automation and services using Python or Java to support access management.
• Collaborate with AWS engineering, security teams, and internal architects to evolve multi-account cloud solutions.
• Onboard teams to new technologies and ensure scalable, auditable data operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud services, specifically S3, Lambda, EMR, Lake Formation, Glue, Athena, and IAM.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
• Proficiency in Python or Java with experience building production services.
• Solid understanding of AWS networking and security concepts, including VPC design and cross-account access patterns.
• Must be based in or be able to work from St. John's or Toronto, Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases and secure access patterns.
• AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or Data Analytics Specialty.
• Knowledge of AWS SageMaker or machine learning platforms in enterprise environments.
