What you will do

• Define and evolve the fullstack architecture for landing pages, onboarding flows, and conversion funnels.
• Lead 3–6 engineers through multi-month projects, balancing architectural leadership with hands-on coding.
• Optimize backend response times, API efficiency, and database query performance to improve conversion.
• Partner with Design, Product, and Marketing to scope experiments and translate requirements into scalable services.
• Write and review code daily across Ruby, Python, TypeScript, and React.
• Mentor engineers on backend best practices, API design, and database modeling.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada and reside in the country.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years focused on backend development.
• Deep proficiency in Ruby and/or Python, with strong working knowledge of TypeScript and React.
• Strong experience with API design, PostgreSQL, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency with at least one public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven track record of leading small-to-medium teams to deliver high-quality customer-facing applications.

Nice to have

• Experience with A/B testing frameworks and data-driven experimentation in Growth environments.
• Experience integrating AI/ML-powered personalization or recommendation features.
• Hands-on experience with analytics instrumentation such as PostHog, Segment, or Amplitude.
• Familiarity with frontend performance optimization, including Core Web Vitals and SSR/ISR.
