What you will do

• Refurbish, repair, and validate microplate readers, including absorbance, fluorescence, and luminescence systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs both in-house and at customer sites.
• Execute calibrations and performance verifications according to OEM and internal quality standards.
• Diagnose complex electronic, optical, mechanical, and software-related faults.
• Install and commission refurbished systems while providing end-user training and technical guidance.
• Maintain accurate service documentation, test results, and refurbishment records.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience servicing microplate readers or related laboratory instrumentation.
• Strong understanding of optical detection technologies (absorbance, fluorescence, luminescence).
• Hands-on troubleshooting skills across electronics, optics, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to work independently in a field-based role.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Life Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.
• Must be based in Massachusetts and the surrounding region

Nice to have

• Experience working with refurbished or certified pre-owned instruments.
