Mechanical Engineer

TL;DR

Mechanical Engineer: Designing, implementing, testing and maintaining mechanical structures to support maritime navigation and surveillance radar products with an accent on development activities and product enhancements. Focus on producing drawings, documentation, prototypes and embodying changes to meet business requirements.

Location: Enfield, GB, EN3 7XQ (Enfield, North London). Travel within the UK may be required at short notice.

What you will do

• Assist in mechanical engineering development activities following hirify.global UK quality processes.
• Support and enhance mechanical aspects of existing products per business requirements.
• Produce drawings and documentation for projects.
• Assist in calculating cost and time-scales for design projects.
• Help make and test prototypes for new equipment.
• Embody drawing changes as required by the business.

Requirements

• Ability to understand technical drawings, documents and product manufacture.
• Excellent IT skills, particularly MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) and databases.
• Technical writing ability.
• Analytical approach to problem solving with strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• Good interpersonal skills to communicate at all levels.
• Self-motivated, calm under pressure, creative, forward-thinking; ability to plan, prioritise and make decisions.
• Honours Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
