Senior Software Engineer - Carrier Connectivity (Java)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer - Carrier Connectivity (Java): Designing and building platforms and services that connect vehicles with wireless carriers and ADAS systems with an accent on cloud-native Java microservices and event-driven architecture. Focus on implementing scalable connectivity, optimizing PostgreSQL schemas, and ensuring high observability using Datadog.

Location: Hybrid. Must report to Warren, MI three times per week.

What you will do

• Design and develop Java microservices using Spring Boot 3.2+ and Java 17+ in a cloud-native environment.
• Implement event-driven integrations using Spring Kafka, including producers, consumers, and robust error handling.
• Optimize PostgreSQL schemas and queries to ensure high data integrity and performance.
• Build and enhance monitoring and alerting systems using Datadog for metrics, logs, and traces.
• Collaborate with product and architecture teams to refine requirements for vehicle services platforms.
• Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot production issues through root-cause investigations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience building production-grade services or platforms.
• Experience with cloud-native development, microservices, and REST/gRPC APIs.
• Proficiency with containers and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated experience operating scalable distributed systems with a focus on reliability and observability.
• Must not require immigration sponsorship now or in the future (H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, etc.).
• Must be based in or able to commute to Warren, MI for hybrid work (3x per week).

• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot 3.2+, Java 17+, Spring Kafka, PostgreSQL, Azure, and Datadog.
