Senior Software Engineer (Commercial Software): Developing high-performance back-end services and systems for commercial fleet management with an accent on scalable cloud-native applications and vehicle communication platforms. Focus on building SDKs for Connected Vehicle Cloud, implementing Software-Defined Vehicle capabilities, and optimizing transportation logistics.

Location: Hybrid (Warren, MI) - Must report to office at least three times per week

What you will do

• Build scalable and efficient code for back-end services and service integration.
• Implement maintainable software designs to ensure sustainable and effective solutions.
• Enhance existing services and develop new solutions to ensure continuous performance and availability.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to implement prioritized features.
• Actively engage in Scrum ceremonies, deployment activities, and DevOps tasks.

Requirements

• Must be based in or eligible to work in the US (Hybrid in Warren, MI).
• 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in production environments.
• 3+ years of experience with Fleet Management Software and Vehicle Communication Platforms (VCP/TCP).
• 3+ years of experience building and running Azure cloud-native applications.
• Experience developing SDKs for Connected Vehicle Cloud (CVC) and Telematic Data Services.
• Experience developing Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) capabilities or services.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in JVM languages (Java, Kotlin) and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and using JavaScript frameworks like React.
• Demonstrated technical leadership through mentoring and influencing design decisions.
• Knowledge of Big Data and streaming technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (Postgres, Oracle, MongoDB).
