What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve highly reliable, scalable data processing services and batch/streaming pipelines.
• Define and implement robust system designs (LLD), API contracts, and data models for downstream consumers.
• Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex data engineering initiatives from requirement clarification to production support.
• Improve the reliability, observability, and cost-efficiency of data systems through instrumentation and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with product, data science, and analytics teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions to improve data processing outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Professional software development experience focused on backend or data-intensive systems in production.
• Proven experience designing data processing solutions (batch/streaming) with strong LLD and API design skills.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language and experience with relational/NoSQL data stores.
• Must be based in the United States (specifically Austin, Texas).

Nice to have

• Experience architecting and scaling multi-service domain-level data processing platforms.
• Hands-on experience optimizing high-volume pipelines, storage layouts, and query performance.
• Track record of driving operational excellence via CI/CD for data services and data quality frameworks.
• Familiarity with AI-driven systems and applying AI-assisted tools to accelerate development.
• Experience mentoring other engineers and influencing cross-team data architecture standards.
