Staff Field Application Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within North America, with preference for candidates near Santa Clara, California; Boston, Massachusetts; or Toronto, Ontario.

Compensation: $100,000–$500,000, including base and variable compensation targets.

What you will do

• Work with enterprise customers to understand technical challenges and deliver effective AI solutions.
• Collaborate with sales teams through customer meetings, presentations, and technical workshops.
• Explain complex AI and hardware concepts to researchers, engineers, executives, and other stakeholders.
• Partner with sales operations and product teams to communicate customer feedback.
• Help shape product features, roadmaps, developer experiences, and future platform enhancements.
• Explore AI performance on custom silicon and support scalable AI pipeline deployments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant technical enterprise experience, such as Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Technical Account Management.
• Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills.
• Expertise in machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and generative AI.
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience with embedded systems, FPGA architecture, or AI accelerators.
• Understanding of data center and server architecture, deployment, thermal and power considerations, and infrastructure management.

Nice to have

• Experience fine-tuning LLMs, optimizing vision models, or building AI pipelines that run at scale.
• Background as a field engineer, solutions architect, or technical specialist supporting production systems.
