What you will do

• Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex networking, server, and identity system issues.
• Design and maintain LAN/WAN, wireless, firewall, and VPN infrastructure, including SD-WAN solutions.
• Manage on-premises and cloud infrastructure, including servers, switches, and access control systems.
• Provide on-site support for the Innovation Lab, including rack-and-stack, cabling, and hardware configuration.
• Support security monitoring, incident detection, and vulnerability management in coordination with leadership.
• Coordinate user onboarding/offboarding workflows, identity provisioning, and device setup.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, IT infrastructure, or systems administration.
• Deep expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, VLANs, and network security.
• Proven ability to resolve Tier 3 issues independently across network and server environments.
• Experience supporting physical data center or lab environments, including low-level hardware support.
• Experience with identity and access management platforms (JumpCloud preferred).
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Security+, or CISSP.
• Familiarity with security frameworks like NIST, CIS benchmarks, or SOC 2 controls.
• Experience with SIEM platforms like Splunk or Sentinel.
• Exposure to high-performance computing, AI infrastructure, or GPU-based systems.
• Experience with Ansible, Puppet, Chef, GitHub, Tailscale, or NetBox.
