TL;DR
Reliability Engineer (Hardware/DoD): Conducting detailed FMECA and developing accelerated aging test plans to validate product lifecycle performance with an accent on reliability risk mitigation and failure physics. Focus on identifying failure modes, quantifying risks through targeted testing, and collaborating with design engineers to improve product reliability.
Location: Onsite in Orlando, FL. Active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
Salary: $34.00 - $39.25 per hour

What you will do
- Create and maintain component-level FMECA worksheets following MIL STD 1629A and internal reliability standards.
- Identify failure modes, associated causes, and their effects on overall system performance.
- Define accelerated life test objectives and acceleration factors based on Arrhenius or Coffin-Manson models.
- Coordinate the execution of tests with internal laboratories.
- Assign criticality rankings and document comprehensive mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of hands-on reliability engineering experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in component-level FMECA and accelerated aging/thermal cycling tests.
- Proficiency with reliability analysis standards such as MIL STD 1629A and IEC 60812.
- Strong knowledge of failure physics, degradation mechanisms, and material behavior under stress.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Model-Based Engineering tools such as Cameo.
- Experience using reliability software (ReliaSoft, Weibull++, ANSYS Reliability).
- Proficiency with statistical tools including Minitab, R, or Python.
- Practical hands-on experience with hardware testing and troubleshooting.
