TL;DR

Process Engineer (Semiconductors): Sustaining daily production and driving long-term improvement projects for Etch & Implant processes in a wafer fab with an accent on yield, capability, and performance improvement. Focus on delivering technical projects for cost and throughput optimization, and ensuring strict adherence to quality standards.

Location: Manchester, UK. Right to work in the UK required; no sponsorship or relocation provided.

Salary: £46,000 - £66,000 (DOE, inclusive of shift allowances)

What you will do

  • Sustain and improve mechanical and electrical yields to meet departmental targets.
  • Monitor and improve Cpk levels and coordinate R&R studies on metrology equipment.
  • Deliver technical projects focused on yield, cost, throughput, and process capability.
  • Support new product and platform development through process development activities.
  • Generate and maintain accurate Wafer Fab Operator Instructions.
  • Ensure full adherence to departmental procedures and quality standards.

Requirements

  • HND or Degree in a relevant STEM discipline (Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or related).
  • 1+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry or a strong academic background as a graduate.
  • Right to work within the UK (no sponsorship available).
  • Ability to work a rotating shift pattern of 12-hour shifts, including nights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments.
  • Competency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Nice to have

  • Experience in Etch & Implant Process Engineering.
