TL;DR

Head of Finance (Fintech): Manage the consolidated group’s financial reporting from A-to-Z and fully oversee Irish statutory accounts ensuring regulatory compliance with an accent on multi-entity consolidations, cross-border accounting, and Irish GAAP requirements. Focus on preparing financial statements, coordinating with auditors and tax advisors, handling intercompany reconciliations, and developing internal controls.

Remote role - based in or around Dublin, Ireland. Work fully remotely with flexible hours across North American and European time zones.

Company

Start-up fintech company with ~80 employees across Canada, the US, the UK, and Europe. Parent company based in Canada, reporting under ASPE.

What you will do

• Act as Irish entity representative: prepare and review financial statements, coordinate with local auditors and tax advisors, ensure timely filings and compliance.
• Liaise with external consultants, banks, and prepare management reporting for the Irish entity.
• Support consolidated financials: assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes, maintain and reconcile multi-entity general ledgers under ASPE.
• Handle intercompany reconciliations, consolidation entries, cross-border accounting, cash management, FX exposure, and internal treasury.
• Assist with sales tax and corporate tax for all entities, and develop internal controls and process documentation.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in multi-entity environments with consolidations, multi-currency reporting, and startups.
• Strong understanding of ASPE (or IFRS) and Irish GAAP/statutory requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to work independently across time zones (strong organization and time management).
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite).

Nice to have

• Exposure to FP&A, financial modelling, budgeting, variance analysis, or management reporting.
