Location: Ethiopia (supporting Ministry of Health and regional health bureaus)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated ETL/ELT pipelines integrating data from DHIS2, EMRs, LMIS, surveys, and other health systems via APIs.
• Develop analytics-ready data models, datasets, indicators, and transformations aligned with national standards.
• Build and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
• Collaborate with MOH and program teams to define KPIs, respond to data requests, and support data interpretation for planning and performance improvement.
• Implement data validation, quality assurance, metadata management, and ensure compliance with governance and security standards.
• Provide technical support, training, and capacity building to MOH units and regional health bureaus; monitor and optimize data systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum 8–10 years in data engineering, digital health, or health information systems.
• Demonstrated experience with national/large-scale health data systems and supporting government institutions like MOH.
• Experience in donor-funded programs preferred.
• Mandatory experience with health information systems (DHIS2, HMIS, EMR, LMIS).

Nice to have

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• ETL/ELT processes, APIs (RESTful, JSON), data warehousing, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools.
