TL;DR
Level 2 Engineer (Legal): Providing L2 technical support and infrastructure management for law firm clients with an accent on legal practice management tools and document workflows. Focus on resolving complex server and end-user issues, maintaining legal-specific runbooks, and ensuring system availability during critical court deadlines.
Location: Must be available to work 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time

What you will do
- Serve as an escalation point for L1 engineers, managing end-user, server, and infrastructure issues.
- Support specialized legal workflows, including redlining, document comparison, and PDF metadata management.
- Own the creation and maintenance of team runbooks specific to legal client environments.
- Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365/Azure environments.
- Utilize RMM tools for alerting, remote sessions, scripting, and basic automation.
- Triage high-urgency incidents tied to court deadlines and time-sensitive billing cycles.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in MSP or IT support, with at least 2 years at an L2 level.
- Prior experience supporting law firm clients or working in a legal IT role.
- Familiarity with legal platforms such as Clio, MyCase, Filevine, iManage, NetDocuments, Worldox, Time Matters, or ProLaw.
- Proficiency in Windows 10/11, Server 2016/2022, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365/Azure administration.
- Hands-on experience with RMM platforms (e.g., ConnectWise Automate, NinjaRMM, Auvik).
- Strong written communication skills for creating technical documentation.
Nice to have
- Experience with PSA toolsets like ConnectWise Manage.
- Exposure to endpoint security tools such as SentinelOne, Huntress, or ThreatLocker.
- Certifications: Microsoft 365, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or Cisco.
