What you will do

• Collaborate with engineers on sustaining initiatives to improve product quality, reliability, and margins.
• Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings for components and assemblies.
• Perform engineering analysis, including functional reviews and tolerance stack analysis.
• Write and execute test plans from early concept and communicate results to cross-functional teams.
• Partner with Program Management, Industrial Design, and Operations to ensure design success.
• Work directly with suppliers on-site to review parts and resolve manufacturing issues.

Requirements

• 2+ years of mechanical design experience.
• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Sound engineering fundamentals in statics, dynamics, stress analysis, and material science.
• Experience with manufacturing methods including sheet metal, injection molding, weldments, machining, and casting.
• Proficiency in a 3D MCAD package (Solidworks preferred).
• Experience with test and measurement tools.

Nice to have

• Design of Experiments (DOE) competency.
• Experience with CAE, FEA, Dynamic Simulation, or Thermal analysis.
• Experience with Windchill PLM.
• Proficiency in reading and applying GD&T.
