Security Design and Technology Intern (Engineering)

TL;DR

Security Design and Technology Intern (Engineering): Developing Electronic Safety and Security systems for various project types including data centers and healthcare facilities with an accent on technical design and documentation. Focus on creating product cut packages, drawings, and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD.

Location: Must be based in or able to work on-site in Boulder, CO, Dallas, TX, or Bloomfield, CT

What you will do

• Support design direction and deliverables under the guidance of Project Executives and Senior Consultants.
• Develop product cuts packages, drawings, and specifications using Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
• Translate client requirements into preliminary technical designs and documentation.
• Participate in needs assessment, design development, and construction support activities.
• Conduct surveys of existing facilities to document security systems and components.
• Research industry standards and emerging technologies to support project work.

Requirements

• Pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, electronics, or architecture.
• Target graduation date of Spring 2027.
• Familiarity with structured cabling systems, networks, Wi-Fi, or security/AV systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Ability to work on-site in Boulder, CO, Dallas, TX, or Bloomfield, CT.

Nice to have

• Exposure to low voltage IT infrastructure, building automation, or security systems.
• Basic experience with Bluebeam, Revit, and/or AutoCAD.
• Understanding of engineering workflows and technical documentation standards in the AEC industry.
