What you will do
- Support connector and cable harness design activities including concept development and CAD modeling.
- Define critical mechanical details such as tolerances, fits, and plastic design considerations.
- Assist with prototype builds, test fixture preparation, and hardware validation.
- Execute reliability testing and define failure modes for mating cycles, strain relief, and environmental exposure.
- Prepare technical documentation including test plans, reports, and engineering change inputs.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams across EE, ME, manufacturing, and supply chain.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics in the final year of study.
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD.
- Ability to solve complex problems using a first-principles approach.
- Hands-on mindset and willingness to work in a lab environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to work onsite in San Jose, CA.
Nice to have
- Experience with cable harnesses, interconnects, or 3D printed prototyping.
- Knowledge of injection molding basics.
- Familiarity with reliability or validation testing.
- Ability to read technical drawings and basic electrical schematics.
- Experience with data analysis.
