Software Engineer Intern

TL;DR

Software Engineer Intern: Design, develop, deploy and operate software solutions for real-time, low latency communications with an accent on distributed computing, real-time DSP (audio processing), virtualization performance, and distributed messaging. Focus on solving resiliency, latency and quality challenges in virtualized cloud environments while shipping multiple projects.

Location: Remote, based in the US. Not allowed in the San Francisco Bay Area, California.

Compensation: $47–$50/hourly (state-dependent)

What you will do

• Ship multiple projects during the 12-week summer internship.
• Solve problems in distributed computing, real-time DSP, virtualization performance, distributed messaging, and more.
• Partner with engineers on core feature development and services that ship to users.
• Participate in code reviews, bug tracking, project management, and agile processes.
• Develop applications focusing on resiliency, high availability, and low latency.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
• Working towards degree; must be based in the US (excluding San Francisco Bay Area, California).
• Hungry entrepreneurial spirit with interest in learning new technologies.
• Experience writing code in Python, Java, Javascript, Golang, C, or C++.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of unit and integration testing, debugging, and deploying testing frameworks.
• Experience in data processing, analytics, business intelligence, and reporting.
• Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, AWS, Scala, or similar technologies.
• Side projects, open source contributions, or software development interest.
