What you will do
- Provide day-to-day engineering support for injection molding processes to maintain and improve yield and product quality
- Evaluate and maintain mold components including cavities, mold bases, and core pins
- Partner with external vendors to manage mold maintenance and spare parts
- Design and improve manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for efficiency
- Optimize machine and equipment layouts to enhance workflow and productivity
- Develop process sequences and tooling specifications, incorporating inspection and testing requirements
- Monitor equipment performance, lead root cause investigations, and apply statistical process control methods
- Collaborate cross-functionally to provide design for manufacturability guidance and ensure regulatory compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with minimum 2 years of related experience (or advanced degree)
- Strong plastics and injection molding background for hands-on manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting medical device or regulated manufacturing environments preferred
- Knowledge of mold tooling, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Unrestricted U.S. work authorization at time of hire (no sponsorship for roles below Principal level)
Nice to have
- Familiarity with SPC, process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), Lean, and Six Sigma
- Experience working with external vendors and suppliers
- Ability to analyze data and drive data-informed decisions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
