TL;DR

Senior Google Cloud Platform Engineer (GCP): Designing, engineering and optimising enterprise-scale GCP infrastructure and networking with an accent on cloud networking, IaC and CI/CD pipelines. Focus on building reliable platform services, owning full lifecycle of cloud services, and collaborating with architecture, security and software teams.

Location: Hybrid working, spending at least two days per week (40% of time) at offices in Leeds, Bristol, Halifax or Manchester (UK)

Salary: £92,701 - £109,060

What you will do

• Design, engineer and optimise enterprise-scale GCP infrastructure and networking
• Develop and review Infrastructure as Code using Terraform / Terraform Cloud
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins and Harness
• Develop automation using Python, Bash and/or Groovy
• Own cloud services through their full lifecycle, including BAU operational support
• Perform code reviews, mentor engineers and collaborate with architecture, security and software teams

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in production environments
• 5+ years’ experience designing and supporting cloud networking (VPC, Interconnect, Firewalls, DNS, NAT, IAM, VPC-SC)
• 3+ years’ experience using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• 3+ years’ experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience working with Kubernetes / GKE
• Experience working in agile delivery environments (Scrum / Kanban, Jira, Confluence)
• Strong understanding of platform reliability, security and automation

Nice to have

• Experience working with large-scale or hybrid GCP environments
• Experience with policy as code
• Experience using monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace or Google Cloud Monitoring
• Google Cloud Professional certifications
