TL;DR

Chief Strategy Officer (Education Advocacy): Designing and executing strategy across ACCS, LEAD, and Empower CT with an accent on enterprise planning, performance management, and cross-functional alignment. Focus on translating vision into priorities, building scalable systems, and managing high-stakes stakeholder relationships.

Location: Connecticut/hybrid, based in Connecticut with weekly in-person team time in Danbury, regular in-state travel

Salary: $160,000–$190,000 annually

What you will do

  • Lead strategic planning, set priorities, OKRs, and workplans across ACCS, LEAD, and Empower CT
  • Build performance management systems, execution cadences, and track outcomes with scorecards and reviews
  • Integrate executive team, remove roadblocks, and drive cross-functional projects
  • Develop data systems, CRM, and technologies for operations and decision-making
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, prepare briefings, and represent ACCS externally
  • Coordinate policy, advocacy, organizing, and C4 integration with message discipline

Requirements

  • 10-15+ years in strategy, operations, government affairs, or education advocacy with cross-functional leadership
  • Experience supporting executives, scaling organizations, and high-stakes decision-making
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, project management, and relationship skills
  • Strong judgment in high-pressure environments with big-picture perspective
  • Commitment to public education and builder mentality in ambiguous settings
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in public policy, education, business, or law preferred
