Location: US-Remote (within the United States, excluding U.S. territories) or from U.S. office locations
Salary: $165,000 - $200,000 USD (annual)

What you will do
- Refine strategic vision and provide intellectual leadership on research questions, study design, and evolution over time.
- Lead full research lifecycle including data collection, ethics, privacy, quality assurance, and adaptive learning.
- Build and manage partnerships with funders, academics, policymakers, and tech stakeholders; lead convenings and co-design activities.
- Develop dissemination strategies, represent the study publicly, and translate findings into actionable narratives.
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams across AIR divisions.
Requirements
- PhD + 7 years or Master’s + 11 years in human development, education, social science research, evaluation, longitudinal studies, technology policy, or AI-related applied research
- Proven record directing large-scale, multi-year research projects with study design, implementation, and partnerships across sectors
- Experience with longitudinal/cohort-based studies and human-centered research approaches
- Must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis; no employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B)
- Strong systems thinking, communication, storytelling, and leadership skills for interdisciplinary teams
