Environmental Advisor (Argyll)

TL;DR

Environmental Advisor (Argyll): Support implementation of environmental strategy and management for Overhead Lines, Underground Cabling and Civils projects in transmission & distribution with an accent on compliance, risk identification, and technical advisory. Focus on conducting inspections, audits, incident investigations, and delivering training on environmental risks.

Location: Hybrid role based in England or Wales, with regular travel to project sites across UK including Argyll, Scotland; willing to travel internationally.

What you will do

• Implement environmental strategy, standards, and HSSE policy obligations across projects.
• Provide technical support for environmental plans, managing aspects like contaminated land and client engagement.
• Identify, communicate, and assist with legal, industrial, and contractual environmental obligations.
• Develop and deliver training on key environmental risks to raise awareness.
• Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and incident investigations with trend monitoring.
• Liaise with management, legal teams, and regulators on environmental issues and KPIs.

Requirements

• Degree in environmental discipline (desirable); professional membership (desirable).
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Experience collating environmental performance data and on-site practical knowledge.
• Practical environmental monitoring skills (noise, vibration, air).
• Knowledge of environmental law, governance, inspections, and auditing.
• Driving licence; proficient in MS Office; willing to travel internationally.
