TL;DR

Senior Quantity Surveyor (Infrastructure): Providing commercial support on transmission and distribution projects including post-award contract administration, cost analysis, cashflow forecasts, and subcontracting strategy with an accent on financial and contractual matters for client projects with SSE. Focus on maximizing recoverable costs, managing change control, ensuring timely deliverables, and contributing to project forecasts under tight deadlines.

Location: Site-based role in Alness, Scotland, United Kingdom. Ability to travel to sites across Scotland required. Flexible working arrangements offering hybrid and remote where relevant.

What you will do

  • Handle post-award contract administration, including payment applications, invoices, variations, and documentation.
  • Provide commercial deliverables such as bonds, PCGs, insurance evidence, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain project commercial plans, including strategies for subcontracting and profit improvement.
  • Conduct regular cost analysis to maximize recoveries, minimize disallowables, identify savings, and manage accruals.
  • Prepare cashflow forecasts, expenditure reports, and expedite payments per contract requirements.
  • Contribute to internal project reviews, reporting, and robust project forecasting with the team.

Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, or Business Studies (professional qualification preferred).
  • Substantial experience as QS or Senior QS, preferably in transmission and distribution overhead lines.
  • Working knowledge of NEC contracts and contract administration including change management.
  • Awareness of corporate and project procedures; sound commercial judgement and flexibility.
  • Ability to collaborate via MS Teams and travel to sites across Scotland.
