TL;DR

System Lead Engineer (Automotive/IVI): Leading the design and integration of In-Vehicle Infotainment and Cockpit Domain Controller systems for the Japanese market with an accent on E/E architecture, network communication, and regional OEM integration. Focus on defining scalable architectures, ensuring functional safety compliance (ISO 26262), and optimizing system performance for next-generation vehicle platforms.

Location: Ariake, Tokyo, Japan. Flexible work environment, with remote work possibilities for eligible roles.

What you will do

  • Lead E/E architecture for IVI and cockpit domain controllers, ensuring modularity and scalability for future platforms.
  • Act as the primary technical interface for Japanese OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.
  • Design in-vehicle communication networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, MOST) and define gateway strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 functional safety and ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity standards.
  • Support integration of Android Automotive OS, QNX, and Linux-based IVI platforms.
  • Optimize system performance, troubleshoot UI responsiveness, and validate wireless interfaces (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Cellular).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in automotive system architecture or embedded systems.
  • Expertise in Linux/QNX, hypervisors, and virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with AUTOSAR, functional safety (ISO 26262), and cybersecurity.
  • Experience with SoC platforms (Qualcomm, NVIDIA, Renesas).
  • Fluent in Japanese and English (both written and spoken).

Nice to have

  • Experience with ADAS integration and vehicle networking (CAN, Ethernet).
  • Knowledge of cloud connectivity, OTA updates, and HMI frameworks.
  • Prior experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers in Japan.
